Welcome to ANSEP at UAF!

The Alaska Native Science and Engineering Program (ANSEP) is a University of Alaska academic program offered at UAF, UAS, and UAA (where the program started). ANSEP is focused on creating new professionals in science, engineering and mathematics among indigenous students, although others interested in these subject areas are welcome to join.

Benefits of ANSEP:

  • Work with students in your field of interest
  • Study groups & student support
  • Career information & professional contacts
  • Summer internships
  • Scholarship opportunities
  • Free lunch at weekly meeting

ANSEP organizes essential weekly meetings that are designed to inform students of internship and scholarship opportunities. ANSEP promotes a community that helps students interact with each other to encourage academic assistance. Participation in study sessions is required. These sessions help students cope with the challenging classes required for their majors. Supplemental instruction sessions and study groups include math, physics, chemistry and biology.

Please join us at weekly ANSEP meetings held every Tuesday at 1:00pm in the Hess Rec Center in the Moore/Bartlett/Skarland Complex.  It is a great chance to chat with other students in the program as well as learn of professional activities.  ANSEP provides lunch for participants.
