The late Tlingit elder Elizabeth Nyman tells ancient legends and traditional stories about the Yanyèdí people, as well as her own deeply moving personal story. Told by Mrs. Nyman in her native Tlingit and translated and edited by Jeff Leer, these six narrative texts relate ancient legends and traditional stories about the people of the Taku region. The Legacy of a Taku River Tlingit Clan is a collection of some of the personal and mythological stories that define the Tlingit people. The book is richly illustrated with maps, historic photos, and many full-color scenes of prominent places in the stories. Joint publication with the Yukon Native Language Centre, Whitehorse.
