Athabaskan Stories from Anvik.

Description:

ix + 186 pp. Texts from Chapman 1914, retranscribed in practical orthography by Kari with assistance from above-named contributors. 16 traditional stories (omitting 2 fragments from 1914), including previously unpublished text, "The Avenger" (Chapman 1924). Interlinear and free prose translations by Jane McGary, who also inserted symbols denoting omissions, additions, and departures of the present text from Chapman's original. Also, annotated ts. of some stories, 55 pp.; annotated ts. of introduction, 3 pp.; notes from Kari and Krauss, 5 pp.
