Tsimshian Songs.

Description:

75 of the 255 Tsimshian songs collected between 1915 and 1929, from 7 Gitksan and 5 Nass singers, recorded on wax cylinders. Pp. 110-157, comments and translations of song texts; 161-280, songs with full Tsimshian text and music, in Barbeau's transcription. William Beynon, Mrs. Constance Cox of Hazelton, Benjamin Monroe of Gitlaxdamks, and Alfred Sinclair of Kitwanga served as interpreters for the initial transcription and translation in the field; William Beynon reviewed all the translations.
