Description:Ts. Index to the papers of Robert McKennan donated to the Rasmuson Library, Alaska and Polar Regions Department in 1985 by the Estate of Catherine McKennan. Papers are dated 1886-1981.
Description: Correspondence, manuscripts, lectures, publications, fieldnotes, memorabilia. McKennan was a cultural anthropologist and professor of anthropology at Dartmouth College, Hanover, New Hampshire. He worked with Upper Tanana, Lower Tanana, Kutchin, and Tanacross people. In 1962 McKennan and his students made recordings of songs, myths and legends in Upper Tanana, Lower Tanana and Tanacross languages.12 pp. annotated by M.Krauss.
Comments Attached correspondence refers to 21 tape recordings including the Chena dialect of Lower Tanana.
