The first edition of the hymnal was issues in 1907 under the direction of Rev. Jules L. Prevost, M.D., for fifteen years a member of the Church's staff in Alaska. Dr. Prevost's intimate acquaintance with the Indian tongues enabled him to translate some of our familiar hymns for the use of the native people. I am glad to say that his work has been found so satisfactory that a second edition is now required.
