Class standing/years in college:
A bit about me:
I'm a Junior at UAF studying foreign languages and linguistics. I have a lot of energy and like to be with people and doing active things all the time!
Why did you choose to attend UAF?
Initially, it was in-state tuition. But I came back because Fairbanks people are my people, and I love braving the extreme weather here.
What do you like best about UAF?
There's always something to do -- an event to go to, people to hang out with and free food to eat. It's easy and fun to get involved!
What do you like to do in your spare time? What extracurricular activities are you a part of?
I love being outside: hiking, berry-picking, skiing, sledding and taking photos of people jumping. I also write a bad advice blog with my amazing roommates and have a radio show called Emotional Celery with the campus radio station.
What is one piece of advice you would give to a prospective student interested in UAF?
Be yourself -- people here want to be your friend, no matter who you are. Also, the dump is a great place to find free stuff.
What do you hope to do after you graduate?
After I graduate, I want to go to nursing school. After that, I would love to travel, combining my language skills with nursing skills in a new place.
If you could live anywhere else in the world, where would it be?
Anywhere that's close to some mountains and has room to hang my hammock.
