A bit about me:

Born and raised here in Fairbanks, I have enjoyed anything from 20 below to rafting in 95 above weather. I enjoy traveling to new countries and states with my family and friends. Love dogs, having fun, food and adventures!

Why did you choose to attend UAF?

I chose UAF because it was a good starting point. Being an Alaska resident, tuition was dirt cheap. I took this opportunity hoping to pursue an exchange through UAF at one time (still to happen).

What do you like best about UAF?

I love the diversity of the students, surroundings and events. You really couldn't find more odds and ends anywhere else. One day clubs and organizations are building 20 foot fires and the next, covered in mud as they dive into a freezing mud pit during SpringFest.

What do you like to do in your spare time? What extracurricular activities are you a part of?

In my spare time I like to get involved. I enjoy volunteering for local community events, but more importantly getting involved on campus. I am the chair to the Nanooks Tradition Board, responsible for three large events on campus: Starvation Gulch, Winter Carnival, and Spring Fest. I work as a student employee on campus. I enjoy downhill skiing and intramural volleyball!

What is one piece of advice you would give to a prospective student interested in UAF?

Get involved. Your experience of college only gets better whe you make new friends and find people to be life-long contacts. Join a club, volunteer, play sports, be a student employee!

What "field work" have you done at UAF that will help you find work in your major?

Just switched my major, nothing quite yet.

What do you hope to do after you graduate?

I hope to get hired as a teacher somewhere in Alaska or continue on into the Master's of Education program. I don't want to get committed too fast because I have some destinations I must travel to sometime soon!

If you could live anywhere else in the world, where would it be?

While I love it here, I have a soft spot for the beaches of Michigan.
