What do you like to do in your spare time?

Chill with my friends, watch movies, read, cook and sleep.

Why did you choose to attend UAF?

I wanted to go abroad for college, and Fairbanks just seemed like the coolest place on earth; and since I had relatives here, it was an even easier choice. Besides UAF has an excellent engineering program.

What do you like best about UAF?

The small class sizes

What extracurricular activities are you a part of?

I am currently the co-president of the Association of Environmental & Engineering Geologists (AEG) Club, a volunteer at the First Assembly of God church, and I involve myself in anything that interests me as it comes my way.

What is one piece of advice you would give to a prospective student interested in UAF?

Take a chance at everything the institution offers, the Financial Aid Office, Career Services, the Math Lab, the Writing Center in the English department. You will be surprised to see how it will benefit you. By the end of freshmen year you could easily have an internship with leading companies, get scholarships that you never knew existed, etc.

What "field work" have you done at UAF that will help you find work in your major?

I have lived here in Fairbanks for three years now, and every summer I was able to do field work associated with my GE major. It mainly involved working with the Division of Geological & Geophysical Surveys (DGGS) through the university here, where I would go out into the geologically unexplored parts of Alaska on certain projects and survey it by hiking or by traversing the land by land or air. It was awesome!

What do you hope to do after you graduate?

I would like to pursue a Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering.

Anything you'd like to add about yourself?

I am from India, so if anybody out there wants to travel to India, wants a taste of good Indian food or maybe you just wanna do something fun. Contact me, and we will figure out stuff!!
