I knew all my friends were attending UAF, and I also had a scholarship. It just seemed like the smart choice.

Nanook Traditions!!! It's a pretty huge part of my college experience. I love the idea of being involved with the planning, and I also enjoy seeing students get involved and seeing them all happy with smiles all over their faces. I love how lively the campus is during Nanook Traditions weekends.

I love sleeping and taking naps . . . BUT I also have a girly side of me that enjoys shopping, cooking, being "crafty" and just hanging out with my besties (including my boyfriend).

I work for the student activities office. Besides that, the major one is Nanook Traditions Board, but I'm also a member of the UAF Hip Hop Dance team and am often playing intramural volleyball.

Get involved! Whether it's clubs, attending activities, or just actively participating in class. It'll make you feel like you're a part of the campus. When you feel like you belong somewhere you tend to do great things (like awesome grades!). Also, for busines majors, get a job. Being able to apply knowledge you learned from class to a real situation and vice versa is the best way to learn and retain information.

Working in the student activities office is helping me develop my marketing, communication, advertising and management skills. Being chair of Nanook Traditions Board has helped me further improve my leadership skills.

I haven't quite made up my mind, but I'm very interested in being an event coordinator. I just really enjoy seeing people smile, and I like the idea that I can contribute to it. But this wouldn't happen until I get my master's.
