A bit about me:
I moved to Alaska in 2000 and have been in the Fairbanks area ever since. I am studying biology in the hopes of eventually becoming a physical therapist. I work at the Student Rec Center on campus and live in the student apartments. Hopefully some day I will get a chance to travel and make a difference in the world.
Why did you choose to attend UAF?
I chose UAF because (in my opinion) it is the best UA school! Alaska is an amazing place, as well as home, and UAF is a great school-- especially for sciences! It also is a beautiful campus with tons of opportunities to participate in various activities.
What do you like best about UAF?
The people at UAF are awesome! There is such a wide range of people here, and they are all extremely diverse. The professors are also really approachable and capable teachers.
What do you like to do in your spare time? What extracurricular activities are you a part of?
I like to read, bake, make pottery and knit in my spare time. I also really enjoy playing soccer and volleyball, as well as running! I love meeting knew people!
What is one piece of advice you would give to a prospective student interested in UAF?
Get involved! It is one of the best ways to meet a lot of new people and make friends. Playing intramural, joining ASUAF, or other clubs and groups will vastly improve your school experience.
What "field work" have you done at UAF that will help you find work in your major?
Nothing at UAF, so far.
What do you hope to do after you graduate?
After I graduate, I hope to get into physical therapy school, and eventually become a physical therapist!
If you could live anywhere else in the world, where would it be?
Washington or Southeast Alaska
