A bit about me:
I was born and raised in Alaska and have loved every moment of it. I grew up with horses, alpacas, chickens, dogs, cats and rabbits, but horses are my true passion. I've been riding for 12 years. I love to laugh and have a great time. And I try to take on each new day and challenge with a smile.
Why did you choose to attend UAF?
After getting a campus tour and meeting a few people, I quickly realized UAF was where I needed to be. UAF is close to home, but not too close. And the people on and around campus are so friendly and welcoming. UAF is also a very active school, and I love that.
What do you like best about UAF?
The people (students, faculty and staff) are always nice and willing to help with a smile on their face.
What do you like to do in your spare time? What extracurricular activities are you a part of?
I love to knit! During the summer, I ride my horse as much as possible. I also love to go hiking. In the winter months I cross-country ski when its not too cold, and love to snowboard.
What is one piece of advice you would give to a prospective student interested in UAF?
Learn and know how you study best. Having a solid set of study skills before you get to college will really help you out in the long run!
What "field work" have you done at UAF that will help you find work in your major?
None yet, but I am starting to look into it, now that I kind of know what I want to do.
What do you hope to do after you graduate?
Well I'd love to find a job that is somehow related to biology. I really want to travel at some point in my life too!
If you could live anywhere else in the world, where would it be?
Somewhere in Europe or... Australia.
