Class standing/years in college:
A bit about me:
If I had to say what my super power was, it would be optimism. I love finding new challenges, traveling and scouting new adventures! Everyday should be lived to the fullest!
Why did you choose to attend UAF?
Originally, I transfered to UAF because my other college, Lewis and Clark, was too expensive, but UAF has grown on me, and I have learned to love all the wonderful opportunities available through this school.
What do you like best about UAF?
Meeting all the wonderful people has been my absolute favorite thing about UAF!
What do you like to do in your spare time? What extracurricular activities are you a part of?
In my spare time I work with the local school districts as a tutor. I'm a Big with Big Brothers Big Sisters, I am a student representative for the Honor's Program Student Council, and I am also president of the student a capella group, Chordinated. In regards to the outdoors and relaxing, I love pack rafting, hiking, camping, and merely hanging or playing music with my friends.
What is one piece of advice you would give to a prospective student interested in UAF?
Get involved on campus! It's the best decision to make, especially if you want to embrace new experiences and meet new people.
What "field work" have you done at UAF that will help you find work in your major?
In my elementary education classes, I have been involved with multiple elementary schools and able to get engaged in elementary classrooms.
What do you hope to do after you graduate?
After graduating, I plan on jumping into the post-bac program for elementary education to attain my teachers licensure. Once I have the licensure, I would love to teach internationally.
If you could live anywhere else in the world, where would it be?
If given a choice, I would spend my days sailing, kayaking and scuba diving in the British Virgin Islands.
