EARLY WARNING REPORTS
Initiative funding in FY00 allowed for the creation of a team of faculty and staff to examine the ways in which UAF reaches out to students in need. The Early Warning program found many roadblocks in the way of access to student information that would enable them to easily and accurately determine the students that needed some extra guidance while pursuing their program of choice. As a result, a series of reports were created in BANNER that allow staff and faculty within departments to find both at-risk students and exceptional students and provide them with the resources (or kudos) that are needed to help them succeed.
Each PDF file listed below contains instructions for running the report in BANNER, a sample printout of the report and any additional information the the Early Warning program found helpful when working with students. The calendar of dates for running reports (PDF 68K) refers to the list of reports below :
- Freshman Progress Reports (PDF 64K)
- New Admits (PDF 52K)
- Non-Returning Students (PDF 72K)
- Probation Students (PDF 84K)
- Deans/Chancellor's List (PDF 60K)
Training on how to run these reports is held once per semester on the Fairbanks campus. This training is scheduled to coincide with the distribution of Freshman Progress Reports to students. Here is the Early Warning Reports Training packet (PDF 563K) , which includes all of the reports and calendar as listed above.
