Individual visits

Individual visits are available Monday through Friday, year-round, except during campus closures. If you would like to schedule an individual visit, please fill out the campus visit request form or contact Amy Wald.


Group visits

If you would like to bring a group of students to UAF for a campus tour and/or meeting with Admissions, please fill out the group campus visit request form.


Your visit can include:

  • an informational session with an admissions counselor
     
  • a student-led campus tour
     
  • private appointments with professors, academic advisors and financial aid counselors
     
  • classroom visits
     
  • lunch on us!

Tours

Daily campus tours

Departing daily on weekdays at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. from the Signers' Hall lobby, tours generally last 1-1.5 hours and cover campus academic facilities, residence life and student life. Tours may be tailored to meet your interest. Bring walking shoes and weather appropriate attire. We recommend scheduling an individual campus visit to get the most of your time on campus.  Please arrive five to ten minutes prior to the scheduled tour departure time.

Directions to UAF

Automobile

Coming from Anchorage on the Parks Highway: Take the Geist Road exit and turn left onto Geist. Continue east on Geist for 1/2 mile to Thompson Dr. Turn left onto Thompson Drive, which ends at a traffic circle. Take the first right (Tanana Loop East).

Coming from Delta Junction on the Richardson Highway: Approximately 10 miles past North Pole, take the exit on the right labeled “Denali Park.” You are now on the Mitchell Expressway. After approximately three miles, take the Geist Road exit, and turn right onto Geist Road. Continue east on Geist for 1/2 mile to Thompson Drive. Turn left onto Thompson drive, which ends at a traffic circle. Take the first right (Tanana Loop East).

Parking
Park in the Nenana lot and get a visitor parking pass. Take the shuttle to Wood Center and proceed to Signers' Hall. For directions to the Nenana lot, refer to our campus map.

Plane

Alaska Airlines links to major airlines through Seattle and offers service to Boston, Denver, Miami, Newark, New York City and Washington, D.C. The Fairbanks International Airport, three miles from campus, offers rental cars, taxi and limousine service.

Train

The Alaska Railroad has service from Anchorage to the Fairbanks railroad depot, located about four miles from campus. From the station, taxis and borough buses are available.
