UA Scholars
UA Scholars represent the top 10 percent of high school graduates in Alaska. These outstanding students receive an $11,000 scholarship from the University of Alaska for any UA campus. UA Scholars get $1,375 each semester for eight semesters to help with the cost of tuition, room, board and books.
How do I become a UA Scholar?
High schools nominate students for the UA Scholars Award at the end of their junior year based on their academic standing. Students cannot apply directly for the award — they must be nominated by their high school.
Deadlines
Scholars receive award letters during the beginning of their senior year and must apply for admission by May 1 to reserve their award. Scholarships must start within 12 months of high school graduation. Your application fee will be waived.
