Community members

UAF encourages community members to continue their learning at UAF. You can easily take courses as a non-degree seeking student, or if you want to get a degree, contact one of our Counselors. Either way, UAF is there to help.

Adult and youth programs
Ranging from the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute where seniors learn about philosophy to Alaska 4-H programs where children learn by doing, UAF provides stimulating environments and learning opportunities for just about anyone, regardless of age or interests.

Community events and services
UAF campuses and centers function as focal points for many community activities. Concerts, theatrical productions, public presentations and athletic events regularly take place in campus facilities. Through a wide variety of programs such as Alaska Sea Grant, University of Alaska Press, Cooperative Extension Service, Marine Advisory Program and public radio and television station KUAC, the contributions of the campus community extend throughout the state and beyond.
