U.S. graduate students

Choose UAF for your graduate education and work with internationally known faculty in Alaska's abundant natural resources. Glaciers, rivers, and wildlife are within easy reach, and the aurora borealis appears frequently to intrigue our space physicists. Our geographic location and expert faculty combine to give UAF a well-earned reputation for arctic and northern research. UAF is Alaska's only Ph.D.-granting university and is America's arctic university.

UAF offers master's and the doctor of philosophy degrees in a number of programs. The Office of the Graduate School provides information and assistance for prospective and current graduate students, including orientation, teaching assistant training and several scholarship and fellowship programs.

Research opportunities for graduate students
If it's about the North, chances are it's being studied right here. Current research spans many disciplines, much of it focusing on issues that affect Alaskans and their way of life. Graduate students can take advantage of the many research and fellowship opportunities available at UAF.
