Curriculum Vita
Markus moved to Alaska in 2006, shortly after graduating from Dresden University of Technology, Germany with a master in business information technology. In spring of 2008 he finished his master at the University of Alaska Fairbanks (UAF) in resource and applied economics. Markus worked on renewable energy projects for Chena Hot Springs Resort and has also has extensive knowledge in banking, finance as well as online & offline media and advertisement. He was hired in September 2008 as an Energy Analyst to work on Alaska Energy: A First Step Toward Energy Independence and the Alaska Energy Plan 2010. He is the founder of the Alaska Energy Wiki, the Alaska Energy Network, and the creator of the initial ACEP & Alaska Rural Energy Conference websites. His involvement with ACEP’s outreach activities includes co-organizing the monthly Community Energy Lecture Series and videography of Rural Energy Conferences. In June 2010 he transitioned into the role of project manager for the Pilgrim Hot Springs geothermal exploration project near Nome, Alaska.
