Julie Estey graduated from Southern Methodist University with a BBA in Marketing and Organizational Management and a BS in Psychology.   As the Business Director of the Alaska Center for Energy and Power, Julie is responsible for all elements of ACEP not directly tied to research including budgeting and planning, education and outreach and developing and managing key partnerships.

Julie comes to the Alaska Center for Energy and Power with experience as a management consultant for Andersen/Accenture Consulting (Chicago, Dallas), and business management experience in the tourism industry and the non-profit sector, with a focus on marketing, media relations, financial management and development.  

Julie initially came to Alaska in 2002 to pursue her passion for dog mushing.   She lives with her husband and toddler son along with 15 sled dogs and one very patient cat  in Palmer Alaska where she can quickly escape to the trails with her family and dogs when not at work.
