The Coast Guard installed a Skystream 3.7 wind turbine at Station Juneau in October 2010. The Coast Guard worked closely with the City and Borough of Juneau on the project and followed a public review and involvement process to ensure the public and other government agencies had opportunities to provide input to the process.  The Coast Guard Partnership in Education program is working with the Juneau School District to provide data from the turbines and educational opportunities for students to learn about wind energy.
