Fairbanks Resources

Despite the plethora of huge frozen monsters for serious mountaineering, Alaskan rock is old and usually not good for rock climbing even in the summer. Three of the most accessible areas with rock of decent qualty are covered in the "Fairbanks Area Climbing Guide" by Stan Justice. He also publishes "Mount Prindle Area Climbing Guide" for those who don't mind a four hour hike to that remote spot abundant with excellent routes. Both guides are available in hardcopy at All Weather Sports and at Beaver Sports, or can be purchased from Stan directly by mailing a check for $6 ($4 for AAC members) to:

Stan R. Justice
1750 Reed Circle
Fairbanks, AK 99709

Note, that all profits from the sale of those guides go to AAC's treasury for future financing of projects such as hut construction and indoor climbing wall improvements.
